After the great impact of the recordings of Arahí Martinez and Anet María Carranza on social networks, mainly Facebook and Instagram during the confinement caused by Covid-19 in which they performed, as a duo, important themes of Cuban musical history, mother and daughter decided to form the musical duo “Las Carranza”.

In this project "La Negrita y el Guaro", Las Carranza have tried to rescue and make visible traditional Cuban songs from genres such as son, guaracha, and traditional trova, with arrangements that evoke a sound that pays tribute to the great duos of the history of Latin American music. In the instrumental format of this production, we can find guitar, bass, instruments as Cuban as tres, bongó, congas, and others such as trumpet and minor percussion, reminiscent of the septets and conjuntos soneros of the middle of the last century in Cuba, which they both contributed to the history of music in the region.
